Well, Chris and I are both in the workforce now. No stay and home mum or dad with Cobey.

My first day was uneventful, although as predicted their were many tears (from me, apparently not many from Cobey) The new boss seems very supportive and just lovely.

Cobey’s has his first couple of days away from Mummy but with Grandma and Grandpa instead. He’s made his peace with Grandpa’s beard (perhaps the fact that he rescued him from the cot after a nap helped this) and has loved his days played with the noisy-toys that Grandma has to offer (which I tuck at the far bottom of the toy box.. heheh)

We’ve received our Family Photos back from Kirsty and Catherine, and I must say they are breathtaking. I’ve been showing them off and told “Wow.. you could spend thousands and not have better shots than these!” which is exactly as we feel.

I was going to go into work today and discuss issues relating to hours.. spoke to Bruce on the phone and he asked me what I wanted and said it'll be just fine :D
So I don't have to go in.

I have to go out soon though, Cobey's getting his needles :(

And I didn't get him to stay awake long enough to nap as soon as they're done *sad*

He had vegemite on toast for breakfast. And Aussie staple :D (photos later)

Oh.. also Cobey's leg was attacked by something.. he has at least 15 bites on it.. also his arms (although not as bad) and a couple on his back.

I knew they were bites but they were fairly agro so we took him to the doctor who proclaimed that he's allergic to mosquito bites so along with the heap of mozzie bites, he's also got hives from them!

Cobey had his first swim lesson today (and he's been asleep ever since LOL) It was good.
He enjoyed some of it, and didn't freak out at all, so we're going to see how he goes for the next 5 lessons.. after that we'll decide if we should have him wait a few months or keep going.

Chris got in the pool with him, they didn't make them go under water, just trying to blow bubbles (which Cobey didn't get, although he only inhaled ONCE lol and sang songs, played games, poured water over their heads and played Humpty Dumpty off the edge of the pool :)

And he did show off how fast his legs move when people say "kick kick kick"

Yup. so it's official... Cobey has 3 teeth!!!! OMG!! 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had a good day yesterday at playgroup. Was going to be the last one for a while but we've arranged a BBQ for next month with the daddies as well.
Of course I have some photos.. I can't believe how much these bubbies have grown!

I received an Electric breastpump and so it's much easier to express milk, I don't have to think about it and I can do it after every feed without effort - WOOHOO!

I need to see work soon about expressing and my hours.. I hope the boss is in on Wednesday.

Today - more playing. Jen, Ali and I (along with Jack, Luka and Cobey) are gathering to have a play! Woohoo! AND I'M GETTING A NEW NAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My boy is 6 months old today.
Half a year ago, right now, we were stuck in traffic on the way to the hospital :D

I'll write more about his 6-month-ness later...
he's been very ratty this morning, didn't want to have anything to do with the boob (it's been 4.5 hours since his last decent feed...) he's been working on those top teeth.. well just now I've managed to get the finger in his mouth to check and I can -just- feel it poking through..... the gum's been cut for the last 2 days with no tooth out but now I'm sure I can just feel it.

Oh my... he's going to look different with front teeth!!!!!

I'm tired.
I'm stressed.
I'm not out of my PJs yet.

Cobey has a tooth coming through and it's causing him a lot of grief. I want it to come through NOW. :(

I'm so tired. It's too hot to bother sleeping.. I half cleaned this room, now I'm going to clean the futon and then I'll nap there. Cobey will be awake by then though.

Yesterday I shopped, bought a few things for Cobey's daycare - a towel and washer, a cot sheet set... found a hat here that he could take to daycare.

I'm sick of people at the moment. :/ hmm.

Cobey enjoys our stuff.. so he gets his own versions of our stuff.

He has his own remote control, his own pillow, his own hat to chew and yesterday he got his own laptop.... (old one that doesn't work, obviously)
He loves to tippy-tap on the keyboard and when seeing Chris' (which, up until today, lived on the floor) he'd army crawl as fast as a blink over to it and smack it around. So he got his own, and it was HILARIOUS to hear Chris suddenly yell "NOOO! YOU HAVE YOUR OWN ONEEE!!!!!!!!!!" *laughs* And this is where the new icon comes from :D

Today was a funny day.. I did something for the first time and left Cobes with someone else for over an hour *gasp* I better get used to it.

We took him down to Chris' parents as they were giving us their old couches.. we arrived, put Cobey in his Jolly Jumper and he happily bounced, Grandma came out of the shower, Cobey took one look and SCREAMED!!!!!!! He's never reacted like that ever before :O
So Grandma gave him a cuddle, nope didn't calm him down... Chris took him back, he dove to me for a cuddle, then I passed him back to grandma and he was happy as Larry, they were besties!
Due to that, and the fact that she'll be looking after him for half the week, she looked after Cobey while Chris, his dad and I took the couches back to our place (1 hour 'round trip.. not including stopping, taking couches up stairs etc) He was a wee sweetheart apparently, didn't get upset, ate his pears, had a little bit of EBM, and showed off his "I'm going to get that remote!!!" skills, zipping along the carpet.

He passed out in the car on the way home, before we'd even reached the end of the street, little pumpkin!!

We had a good day today! We took Cobey to the local pool for his first swim (first swimming lesson is next week at the same pool hehe)

It was SO DAMN HOT I suggested shopping but Chris wasn't keen, so pool it was.

Cobey didn't like the shallower water (could've been hungry) but he was fine in the deep pool (mind you, it was after a feed) He's also teething badly which could've hampered his swimming experience.. I can see the white pushing at the gum on his front right tooth.... it just need to cut through.. but it's RIGHT there.

The camera I have (CHEERS BECCA) has a waterproof case so I just slipped it in the pocket of my boardies while we splashed around :D Was good because I could take so many photos and not always look back at my bag to see if someone was knicking my stuff.

So yes, of course there are heaps photos to be had.

Meh.
Nothing has been happening.
Today I went to the park and met with some mummies... it was too hot to stay there for too long, there was no shelter. Bleh.

Tonight we're going to Jen's place and having dinner - woohoo.

Someone asked what I have to buy for Cobes for daycare...
he needs..
6-8 Nappies
Fitted Sheet Set in Bag
3 - 4 Changes of Clothes
4 - 6 Bibs
Towel & Washer
Bottles/Sippy Cups
Hat
Puppy Blankie.

So of that list I need to buy a fitted sheet set, some more sippy cups, a towel and a hat. :)
I just called up and got it all arranged including the amount I have to pay.. s'all worked out.

Ergh, I'm hot. I'm stink. I'm sweaty. Bleach.

Cobey can now move. I don't know why I'm in here telling you this and not out there picking up all the things he's getting into!!

He's not -crawling- kinda army crawling, he pushes his arms forward, wiggles his legs, gets on all 4s, lunges... but.. yeah.. OMG HE'S MOVING!!!

Went to a Cafe with some bubhub friends today :D Had a great morning, and I promised myself I wouldn't buy food there so I just got a milkshake and continually drank the water! heehee

I'm a horrible mother tho', exposing my child to deep fried fatty foods. Cobey loves hot chips. It's true. He had one on the weekend when we had fish and chips, he had another one today from Jack's chippies.. I suck the salt off and hand them over, he eats them so well.. tsk tsk :p

I'm going to have lunch while he's asleep!! Toodles!

I got Cobey to sleep without crying, no whinging, no screaming. :D And no car ride (as what happened yesterday)

I just lay on my bed and let him crawl around, roll, muck around, whatever. He was on his hands and knees rocking and I looked at his eyes... then rolled back and -CRASH- he rocked himself to sleep the little dork. He woke up as I put him in his cot but his eyes slammed shut as soon as he hit the mattress. Woohooo!

Okay, so for work I have to work 27.5 hours a week.

Cobey's going to Grandma Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, Daycare is Wednesday and Friday.

Working those hours I can do 4 days at 6 hours and 1 days at 3.5. I also have to work an extra 4 hours a week unpaid so that I can have it paid during holidays instead.

Okay.. so say I want monday to be my 3.5 hour day... (it'll either be monday, tuesday or Thursday)
I work from 8.30 - 11 (Morning tea) and zip to Grandma's in time for Lunch time.
I like that idea.

And all other days of the week I work from 8.30 - 4............ then I'll be down to pick Cobes up from Grandma by 4.30 and from daycare at 4.05

Hmmmmmmmm I'm liking this idea. I wonder if they'll like me deciding to leave midway through Monday.

Monday I have to buy all his daycare stuff. *sigh* that's not going to be easy.

aah so this is what having a normal baby is like :p

Cobey's turned into a real monster the last few days. He just fights his sleep so badly. At least he sleeps through I guess. I'm beginning to think it's teeth.. I also think I might be pushing him to bed before he's REALLY tired. Today I've been trying to just play with him or sit with him, even though he's grizzling, until he starts really rubbing the eyes and stuff. So far 2 day naps have been successfully achieved by this. I know that all sounds fair enough.. but I can normally pop him in at the first sign of him being tired and he'll sleep himself.

Hmm.

Today's lunch was a smash hit for him. Mooshed up Banana and Avocado. I recommend this to anyone (and baby too... but I was tempted to have it on a sandwich) Cobey gobbled it up, HEAPS of it, and was so happy to be eating it too. If only avos weren't so expensive at the moment he'd have that every day.

I'm a bit cranky as my 'sposie of choice isn't being made much anymore. Bi-lo's being taken over by coles, so the products on the shelf are slowly changing. I buy the Bi-lo nappies, they're SUPER cheap and work SUPER well.. for $20 I get 80 (whereas for $40 you get 90 huggies - the main nappy brand) the last 2 shops they haven't had the jumbo packs, only the little 20 packs :( I asked for some and they said they had just gotten a load in, went to look and came back saying they've only got the next 2 sizes :( which means - I think - that the medium ones aren't being made anymore and they're waiting to use the last of the other packs before phasing them out.
Coles have the exact same nappy for around the same price but they don't come in a big jumbo pack. :/

That's my main whinge.

Y'day we went to Wynnum to meet with Nana, Aunty Sandra, Dad, Ineke, Cameron, Alana and Zoe (and Alana's boyfriend, Angus.) Had a great day, no swimming as I forgot Cobey's towel and even though I was going to borrow one, he cracked it and fell asleep just as we were about to swim. Was a lovely day and a lovely lunch.

Ineke made the nappy that Cobey's wearing. LOVE IT :D

Aah another grand sleep through last night. I'm putting him to sleep differently, normally I jiggle, last two nights he's lay beside me in my bed until he snuggles and drifts off then put in his cot. Hmmmmmmm

I'm 99% sure that Cobey said either BaBa or DaDa this morning... he can't have said "ah ah" as that's just not something he'd say *laughs* I can't think how to word it but yeah.
Soo impressed :)

This entires taking a while as I'm trying to teach Cobey how to self settle again which means constant walks into the bedroom. he's not upset, just talking (however apparently tired) and dropping his dummy outside the cot. *mutter*

We're off to wynnum today for lunch with Nana Shirley, Aunty Sandra, Alana, Zoe, Dad, Ineke and Cameron :D YAY!

Yesterday Chris and I went for a HUGE walk, get this brisbanites... from The Regatta at Toowong, all the way to the Good Will Bridge on the other side of the city, then back across through south bank until we found a ferry terminal and we caught the ferry back to the regatta (a 5 minutes trip, somewhat making our one hour walk insignificant) I walked at a good pace and we rewarded ourselves with subway (mm healthy) at the end of it! Today if it's a nice day out we'll go for a walk along Wynnum :)

Cobey pooed in his new Honeyboy yesterday, I wasn't impressed. (it's been washed again, ready for wear :p)

Soooooooooooooo :)
Today was a biggish day. Jen came over at 9, we went to pick up my new nappy *claps hands and cheers for HoneyBoys* and then headed to Noo's place to have afternoon tea with her and Ali :D Was a good day, we got home around 4ish, and that was that! :p

Cobey's new nappy is FANTASTIC it's soooooooo soft and just delicious. It has dinosaurs in it - RAR - but it's far too pretty to poo in *laughs*

Speaking of Poo.. Cobey tried banana yesterday.. he's fine but he hasn't pooed in 24 hours. Eep. Pears for him for the next few days (which he LOVES btw. Doesn't grimace when eating and eats heaps)

Also today Cobey got all dressed into his Shamrock Onsie that Becca sent over from Ireland for Christmas. He looks positively adorable in it :D

Went shopping today and Chris saw Cobey enjoying an exersaucer. So he thought he'd buy one. :p it's on lay-by... it's a groovy one, once Cobey's had enough to the exersaucer aspect, we can turn it into a car track! WOOHOOO!

Poor little button can't touch the ground yet. He's so short.

We also walked around the shops and Cobey decided he wanted a snack. Not wanting to stop he had to eat and go.

Yesterday Chris and I took Cobey and Joshua to Underwater World. I love that place so I wanted to go and Chris suggested we take Josh. He's such a run about handful but it's all good. Make me wonder how Cobey will be at a 5 year old.

Had a good day, took plenty of photos however due to lack of flash the photos are all shaky. Dodgy. The one good one was Cobey's Face as we walked around. He seemed amazed by all the fish!! Kept him in the sling all day which gets heavy once you've walked around with 7.7kg (weighed this morning!) attached to you. I'm so glad I had the sling tho', at one point he was asleep and I was able to pull the sling up around the back of him and over his head so I could be hands free and he could snuggle in safely. Normally I pull the sling down to his bum so he's stuck there and can move around.

I love that Chris is on holidays but I hate that he sleeps in. I want to spend time with him (and also time without both the boys) but I can't until at least 11 most days. *sigh* I'm tired and -I'd- like to sleep in.

I don't know if I'm ready to go back to work.
